The high cost of lands and limited numbers of landfill to handle the increased generated waste by industries, increase the illegal dumping which have harmful consequences by generating green house gases and leachate. The high rate of industrial growth lead to the huge amount of generated solid wastes which arise environmental concerns by bringing them for final disposal in landfills. The unit in which the process takes place is termed as Incinerator. The products of combustion are carbon-dioxide, water and ash as a residue. Incineration may be defined as the thermal destruction of the waste at elevated temperature say 1200 ☌ to 1600 ☌ under controlled operational condition. ![]() Incineration is one of the best methods among various disposal facilities to detoxify medical waste. However, sound medical waste management is kept to protecting health in the country and requires dedicated planning, training and tracking throughout the medical waste collection, storage, treatment and disposal process.
